The Workload Pressures Experienced by Nurses at Public Sector Hospitals, Peshawar

OBJECTIVE The study's objective was to assess that nurses working in in-patient wards were under workload stress. METHODOLOGY Descriptive observational research on the ward of a public sector hospital Peshawar undertaken November 2020. Workload Indicators Staffing Need (WISN), tool established by World Health Organization (WHO) anticipate number health staff needed cope with pressure, used determine nurses' workload. To ensure successful implementation WISN methodology, three tiers committees developed, including steering, technical, and expert committees. Data also analyzed using tool. RESULTS Nurses hospital's unit work 1966 hours per year. service activities, support, other activities account for 47.92%, 33.33%, 18.75% all time, respectively, during this time. Four study; however, estimated ward's one nurse overstaffed at ratio calculated 1.33. CONCLUSIONS study concluded there no pressure (negative), had an extra who could be accommodated any department greater demand.
